Aunigma has acquired worldwide exclusive rights from Auburn University to commercialize intellectual property invented by faculty and graduate students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. Using this foundation over the past 18 months, we have expanded their basic methodologies into a revolutionary and disruptive technology—called PacketLok™—that provides universal network connectivity, security, versatility and performance at a level until now believed unattainable.

The core of Aunigma’s effort is comprised of a powerful combination of protocols offered in Java or C. We have used this patent-pending technology to create an integrated unified threat management (UTM) and wide area network (WAN) optimization offering that does not utilize unnecessary transport overhead functions or SSL/SSH/IPSec, digital certificates and public keys. This next generation technology is identity-based (i.e. uses device identity and not IP address) and symmetrical with the following attributes:

• implements on any OS and device,
• enables network transmission tuning for Quality of Service (QoS),
• enables ultra efficient WAN optimization and acceleration for all devices,
• enables single packet, two-stage, multi-factor, ultra strong mutual authentication and authorization,
• allows unique dynamic identity, protection, access control and privacy for every packet, and
• enables IT management features like real-time and errorless probing/attack detection dashboard, “honeypot” forensics, etc.

Since each user has his own set of circumstances and requirements, Aunigma has developed as the core of our offerings a transport protocol security extension that overcomes the flaws of current PKI technology. Our technology manifests itself as a VPN (with the characteristics described above) that is available with several different solutions. These options allow the user to select the implementation best suited to his specific situation.
